Voice Mail Greetings
The user can change the settings for a given Twilio number to use:
- MP3 Voice Mail Greeting
- Text-to-Speech greeting
The user edits the Twilio number settings by logging into the UberSmartPhone (USP) account console Numbers tab. Then click on the pencil-paper icon next to the subject Twilio number.
Users should note that the Twilio number settings page allows making multiple changes at one time. All the changes specified are applied together and at once when the user clicks the SAVE button.
Text-to-Speech Greeting
With Text-to-Speech, the system reads the specified voice mail greeting text using the specified voice to the caller. Then the system issues the proverbial beep and records the caller’s message. The system supports 3 different languages: American English, French, and Spanish in addition to male and female gender.
Out-of-the-box the text-to-speech is turned on with a default message:
“You have reached TWILIO_NUMBER_HERE. Please leave a message at the beep.”
This message is read using the voice Queen Victoria (British English female).
The user changes the greeting by entering a new text message in the box provided on the Twilio number settings page. Some words (probably names and places) may have to be spelled in a phonetic manner for the system to read them properly. If the user would like a gap or pause in the reading then enter 3 periods … Don’t forget to click SAVE.
MP3 Voice Mail Greeting
With a MP3 Voice Mail Greeting, the system plays an audio recording to the caller. A professionally produced voice mail greeting makes a great first impression and encourages people to leave a message. We have had great success with the services of https://www.amazingvoice.com/ to produce voice mail greetings.
The user uploads MP3 voice mail greeting files using the Twilio number settings page.
