Easy PIN Provisioning
UberSmartPhone (USP) makes use of Easy PIN Provisioning technology, and consequently to add a phone number to a smart phone, the user sends a secret PIN via SMS/text message to the Twilio phone number. If the PIN is valid, then UberSmartPhone (USP) responds with a reply SMS/text message that has a URL link to the dialer. The user opens this link and bookmarks the UberSmartPhone (USP) dialer to the smart phone’s home screen for convenient single click access.
There is no need to visit iTunes or the PlayStore to install an App because the URL link returned by the PIN instantly provides the functions to
- dial outbound calls
- listen to voice mails
- access a shared contact book
- share/send/receive text/picture messages
- shared call log
This link should only be used on the smart phone that it was delivered to because using it on another smart phone may cause a malfunction.
Easy PIN Provisioning Option
The home page console (Numbers tab) of the UberSmartPhone (USP) account lists all the Twilio phone numbers and their respective PIN values. Furthermore the user may:
- turn the PIN function off
- generate a new PIN that expires
- generate a new PIN that does not expire
by clicking the pencil-paper icon next to the number and adjusting the settings.
Disconnecting an Agent
The Numbers tab also lists the agents that have added the given number to their smart phones using easy PIN provisioning. Furthermore agents can be disconnected by clicking the broken-chain link. Consequently a disconnected agent will have to re-use easy PIN provisioning to re-gain access to the given Twilio number. If the PIN has been changed or turned off the disconnected agent will be locked out.
Enabling UberSmartPhone (USP) Sharing Functions
The first agent to provision their smart phone gets exclusive use of the phone number. When two or more agents provision their smart phone, however, the UberSmartPhone (USP) sharing functions are automatically turned on.
